Mr. Copple, a native of Nashville, is a 1969 graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy. He attended and graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas (B.A, 1973, Economics and History). He attended the University of Virginia Law School (J.D. 1976). Mr. Copple practiced at the Trenam Kemker law firm in Tampa, Florida, from 1976-78, and returned to Nashville in 1979. He has practiced in Nashville since 1979. A partner in the Waller firm during the 1980’s, he started his own practice in 1989 and was affiliated with Parker & Crofford, an association of nine attorneys in Nashville, from 1998 to 2019. In 2000 he moved his office to Brentwood, Tennessee, and continues the general practice of civil law and litigation in all courts.
Mr. Copple is licensed in Florida (1976), Georgia (1978), and Tennessee (1979) and is a member of several professional legal organizations. He specializes in litigation and general civil practice.

Mr. Copple is experienced in complex litigation as well as in everyday small and mid-sized court cases. When counseling clients in transactional matters and negotiating contracts, Mr. Copple attempts to facilitate a deal being finalized instead of looking for ways to torpedo a client’s proposed deal, as happens so often.
